“Size Matters”: An Exhibition of Artworks Large and Small

Mike-Koscielniak-GettingBarreledTubeRidingThe impact of a piece of art apparently has little to do with its size or scale. So the question is: does size matter? Big isn't necessarily better; small isn't necessarily insignificant. Sometimes subject matter dictates size and the same subject represented in miniature will have a completely different effect when presented as an oversized painting.

For August we are inviting members and guests to submit LARGE (even really oversized) and small (even tiny miniatures) paintings, photography, sculpture or anything art, covering all subjects and media.

Anneke-Dekker-HereIam-Acrylic-MixedMediaThe month long exhibit will open with a free refreshments/snacks reception on Friday, August 2 from 5-8pm in conjunction with Michigan City’s “First Friday” celebration in the historic Uptown Arts District.

“Size Matters” exhibition will run through Sunday the 1st of September at the SSAA Gallery located at 724 Franklin Street. Gallery open hours are Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 12-5pm (CST).
