Scholarship Applications Available March 31 for Students from La Porte in Health and Wellness Fields

Healthcare-Foundation-of-La-Porte-logoThe Healthcare Foundation of La Porte (HFL) takes great pride in offering scholarship awards to students in the La Porte community, a tradition started by the La Porte Hospital Foundation in 1983. In addition to multiple scholarships available through HFL, scholarship opportunities funded by the La Porte Hospital Auxiliary will also be accessible through the same application process. Over $32,000 in scholarship funding will be awarded.

The application for these scholarships will be open March 31 – May 7, 2017. Applications must be submitted prior to midnight on Sunday, May 7th, and applicants will be notified of their award status on Monday, June 5th. Scholarship Awards will be presented to recipients at a reception in June (date and location to be finalized). To access the application or find more information, visit hflaporte.org/scholarships.

For all available scholarships, students must be pursuing careers in health and wellness fields and be enrolled at an accredited university, college or similar higher learning institute.

Available Scholarships and Additional Requirements Include:

  • Healthcare Foundation Scholarships – students must also:
    • Be residents or be actively employed within the city of La Porte and surrounding areas
    • Be enrolled in their third year (junior) or higher, or be enrolled in a post graduate healthcare program
    • Have a GPA above 3.0
  • Healthcare Foundation Radiologic/Medical Imaging – students must also:
    • Be residents or be actively employed within the city of La Porte and surrounding areas
    • Be enrolled in Associate of Applied Science - Radiologic Technology OR
    • Be enrolled in Associate of Science - Radiography OR
    • Be enrolled in Bachelor of Science - Medical Imaging Technology
    • Have a GPA above 3.0
  • La Porte Hospital Auxiliary Scholarships – students must also:
    • Be enrolled in their freshman or sophomore year of college
    • Be a graduate of a high school in La Porte County OR employed by La Porte Hospital or La Porte Physicians
