Regional Shop Hop Puts Small Business First

Summer-Stroll-Shop-Hop-2016The Summer Stroll – Regional Shop Hop features more than 20 different local shops and eateries offering shoppers in-store deals and discounts June 23-25 throughout Northwest Indiana. Shoppers are encouraged to tour multiple towns for a three-day shopping adventure.

“Our goal is to showcase unique, independent small shops while promoting the Shop Local effort at the same time,” said Cathie Antczak, co-owner and designer for Present-ations! Marketing, Promotions and Events.

Towns and cities participating include: Crown Point, DeMotte, Hebron, Lowell and Wheatfield. Participating shops and eateries include: After 8 Handmade, Antiques on Main, The Antique Vault, The Little Pink Shop, Mink/Est. 1964, Prairie House Primitives, Goodman Sweets, Bid D Bar Antiques & Reclaimed, Country Dreamin’, Shady Spring Farm, Nearly New, Peace Planet Earth, Aunt Nae’s, Classy Cuts Salon, Dragonflies Antiques & Accessories, Hodge Podge Fine Furnishings, K & S Sewing, Spring Run Farm, Tish’s Antiques and Goldstar Café.

Shoppers have the opportunity to create their own itineraries during the three-day hop. The multiple towns participating provide a diverse and unique experience for shoppers and visitors alike. “Shoppers are welcome to start and stop wherever they please over the three-day hop to find their deals, which is often unavailable to travel groups” Antczak stated.

Small shops participating in the event hope to bring vibrancy to their local downtown areas through the three-day hop. “Small business is here, we exist and these shops are Northwest Indiana’s best kept secrets,” said Renae Helton, owner of the participating shop Aunt Nae’s in Lowell. “Once they see what we offer, they’ll be back.”

In addition to special offers from local shops, shoppers can complete a game board to earn a souvenir from participating businesses by visiting the various locations.
