Maintenance Technician Position

Queen of All Saints Parish is accepting applications for a full-time maintenance technician to join our maintenance team. This person will perform upkeep tasks, such as repairs and cleaning. Additionally, Maintenance Technicians are responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems, to maintain a positive environment, maximize usability, and ensure facilities are clean, safe, functional and secure.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment;
  • Performing preventative maintenance on equipment, buildings, and systems;
  • Handling basic repairs and maintenance of machines, equipment and buildings;
  • Performing cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting, using floor scrubber, etc.;
  • Perform landscaping/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash, blowing leaves, shoveling snow, spreading salt;
  • Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, cleaning gutters, waxing floors, stocking supplies;
  • Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm);
  • Performing routine maintenance around the building for example, window, door or wall repair;
  • Maintaining the building HVAC equipment i.e. replacing filters, and basic diagnosis;
  • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof;
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries;
  • Assist with set up/tear down of tables and chairs for group meetings, and moving furniture and supplies as directed.

Qualifications

  • Experience performing routine maintenance on facilities and equipment preferred;
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • Must complete VIRTUS training and background check;
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts;
  • Ability to research and follow blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary;
  • Ability to use common hand and electrical tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches;
  • Experience with measuring instruments and electronic testing devices;
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems;
  • Strong organizational and follow up skills;
  • Strong time management skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Eye for detail;
  • Professional presentation and attitude;
  • Ability to maintain focus while working individually;
  • Must possess physical stamina and dexterity;
  • Must be comfortable to climb ladders, walk roofs, and the ability to lift 40 lbs.

Salary
Commensurate with experience
