PNW-Volleyball-Drops-CCAC-Contest-to-Olivet-Nazarene-Thursday PNW Volleyball Drops CCAC Contest to Olivet Nazarene Thursday The Purdue University Northwest volleyball team dropped a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference match to Olivet Nazarene University Thursday night.

The Pride (12-11, 5-5 CCAC) fell in three-sets (25-21, 25-22, 25-14) to the Tigers (17-10, 11-1 CCAC) at Mchie Arena.

Junior Gabrielle Martin (DeMotte, Ind./Kankakee Valley) led the offensive attack for the Pride, recording a double-double with 10 kills and 16 digs while Jenna Pasko (Lansing, Ill./T.F. South) tallied nine kills.

Freshman Brooke Ahrens (Covington, Ind./Covington) registered a team-high 24 assists and Auburn Dodd (Chicago, Ill./Gwendolyn Brooks) recorded five block assists to headline the Pride leaders.

After trailing 17-14 to start Set 1, the Pride battled back to even the score at 19-19 on a kill from Martin.

ONU would answer back and take a 22-21 lead, before rattling off three straight points to win the opening set 25-21.

Eudora Negri (Munster, Ind./Munster) would record a service ace early in Set 2 to give the Black and Gold the 8-5 advantage.

Olivet Nazarene would eventually take the lead midway through the match, and held on to that advantage to come away with the 25-22 second set win.

The Tigers would carry that momentum in to the third set, defeating the Pride 25-14 and picking up the 3-0 win.

Purdue Northwest returns to action Tuesday, Oct. 18, when they travel to Governors State for a CCAC contest starting at 7 p.m. (CT).
