Purdue University Northwest (PNW) will host two community backpack giveaway events on Aug. 3 to benefit families in need with school supplies during the back-to-school shopping season.
PNW’s Roaring Back to School Backpack Giveaways are open to the public and will take place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Families can go to the main PNW campus in Hammond, 2233 173rd St., Hammond, Ind., where supplies will be distributed in the 173rd Street parking lot. Families can also visit the Westville branch campus, 1401 S. U.S. 421, Westville, Ind., where supplies will be distributed inside the James B. Dworkin Student Services and Activities Complex.
Besides backpacks, families can gather writing, paper, and art supplies.
