Purdue University has resources to help people deal with flooding problems.
The Purdue Extension publication, "First Steps to Flood Recovery" is available free at the local Purdue Extension office. It’s also available on the Web at http://www.extension.purdue.edu/floodpub/ and covers many flood-related issues.
The publication has information regarding how to take care of people and pets during a flood, how to enter a flooded building and salvage damaged property and how to deal with foods contaminated by floodwaters.
If your house is flooded, Purdue Extension has three short videos that review 1) safety precautions to take before re-entering a flooded house, 2) cleaning a flooded house and 3) help with contractors when fixing flooded houses.
