Purdue Northwest Public Relations Firm Elects CEO

On Monday, Feb. 22, Shannon Yardley was announced CEO of Pride Connection. The team of directors elected Yardley to lead the team through a communication audit for the university theater.

Yardley and opponent Ethan Courtney were given time to present their qualifications for the CEO position and visions for the agency, followed by a vote from the team. Yardley was ultimately announced as CEO for Pride Connection.

Yardley is a senior at Purdue University Northwest. Her major is Communication with a concentration in Public Relations. After college, she would love to find a job in Chicago to gain more experience and at some point move westward across the country.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We are in the middle of a pandemic and will be leaving a blueprint for future classes. An expectation I have moving forward would be constantly communicating with one another on how we are doing with our assigned tasks,” said Yardley.

Pride Connection is a non-profit, student-led public relations firm dedicated to evaluating the effectiveness of an organization’s communication efforts. The agency is associated with Purdue University Northwest and is overseen by professor Thomas Roach, associate professor of Communication.

“At Pride Connection we pride ourselves in creating, communicating, and connecting to build the highest-quality relationship between an organization and its publics. I am certain with Shannon leading our team we will have great success,” said the Pride Connection Chair Andrea Calderon.
