Purdue Northwest is Introducing Master’s Degree Concentrations in Instructional Technology & Educational Administration

Purdue-Northwest-colorPurdue University Northwest is introducing two, redesigned master’s degree concentrations—in Instructional Technology and Educational Administration—during the 2017 spring semester beginning in January.

The master’s degree program in Education (M.S. Ed.) with a concentration in Instructional Technology is designed to provide students a practical, authentic experience that encourages growth in skills, theory, and critical and creative thought processes.

The master’s degree Educational Administration concentration provides theoretical and practical experiences with faculty who are current or former school/school corporation administrators. Upon completion of this program, students will be prepared for comprehensive Indiana licensure and may be candidates for school administrative positions. Licensure in other states also may be available.

Advanced education study “These concentrations were developed using the most current development, practice and research in the fields of instructional technology and educational administration,” Purdue Northwest Chair of Counseling and Professional Education Mary Didelot said. “Both programs offer candidates a wealth of career opportunities.”

A feature of the Educational Administration concentration is a six-credit hour summer workshop in Leadership and Community Relations. The workshop will introduce students to higher education administrators and faculty, central office and school administrators, as well as community leaders in government and other organizations who will share their insights as guest speakers.

This intensive workshop also will provide networking opportunities and help further prepare candidates for real-world success.

Various degree options Both concentrations are provided through PNW’s School of Education and Counseling within the university’s College of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences. PNW offers advanced study in Education and has degree options that can be completed in as little as one year.

The Purdue Northwest Education master’s degree program provides numerous choices of electives and degree concentrations plus access to the latest technologies. PNW also offers master’s degree concentrations in Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling and Human Services Counseling. Licensure in Special Education is available as well.
