Purdue North Central Welcomes New Faculty Members

PNCPurdue University North Central welcomes new full-time faculty members for the 2014 – 2015 academic year. They are:

College of Science
Lindsay Gielda - visiting assistant professor of Biology. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her doctorate at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Most recently she served as an adjunct faculty member at Northwestern Michigan College.

Amy Hammoud - visiting assistant professor of Nursing. Hammoud holds associate degrees from Indiana University and Purdue University and bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Phoenix. She has been employed as a registered nurse at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital and limited-term lecturer at PNC.

Bir Kafle - visiting assistant professor of Mathematics. Kafle was granted a bachelor’s degree at Tribhuvan University-Nepal; a master’s degree at Western Illinois University and doctorate at, Louisiana State University. Most recently, Kafle was an instructor at Louisiana State University.

Kristi Paull - visiting assistant professor of Nursing. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and master’s degree from University of Phoenix. She was employed as a registered nurse at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital and a limited-term lecturer at PNC.

Allyson Saary - visiting assistant professor of Nursing. She has an associate degree from Miami-Dade Community College a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a master’s degree from Walden University. She previously worked as a staff nurse at Porter Hospital.

Scott Simerlein - clinical assistant professor of Biology. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and a Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic. He was an associate professor of Life Sciences at Ivy Tech and a limited-term lecturer at PNC.

Michelle Spaulding – assistant professor of Biology. She was granted her bachelor’s degree by the University of California and her master’s and doctorate degrees from Columbia University. Most recently served as an Rea postdoctoral fellow at Carnegie Museum of Natural History

Gayle Voight-Block – clinical assistant professor of Nursing. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Valparaiso University and her master’s at Purdue University. She served as a visiting assistant professor of Nursing at PNC.

College of Liberal Arts
Hui Chu - assistant professor of Psychology. Chu holds master’s and doctorate degrees from the University of Kentucky and was most recently a visiting scholar instructor at the University of Kentucky

Denise Frazier –assistant professor of Literacy Education. She has a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and a master’s and doctorate degrees from Ball State University. She has been employed as an adjunct professor at Indiana Wesleyan University.

College of Engineering and Technology
Kim Huffman – visiting assistant professor of Computer & Information Technology. She earned her associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees from Purdue University. She was a limited-term lecturer at PNC.

Jiliang Li – assistant professor of Civil Engineering. He was granted his bachelor’s degree by the University of Science and Technology Beijing and his doctorate by the University of Alabama. He was employed as a geotechnical project engineer for CTL Engineering, Inc.

Wangling Yu – visiting assistant professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering Technology. He earned his bachelor’s degree from East China University of Science and Technology, his master’s and doctorate degrees from The City College of the City University of New York. He previously worked as a test engineer at SRA International, Inc. and a limited-term lecturer at PNC.

George Stefanek –assistant professor of Computer & Information Technology. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, his master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and his doctorate from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He also served as a visiting assistant professor of Computer & Information Technology at PNC.

College of Business
Ceren Ekebas-Turedi - assistant professor of Marketing. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Yeditepe University Turkey, a master’s degree from Rochester Institute of Technology and a doctorate degree from Old Dominion University. She was an instructor at Old Dominion University

Henry Williams –assistant professor of Organizational Leadership. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from National-Louise University and doctorate from Benedictine University. He previously served PNC as a visiting assistant professor.
