The Purdue University Calumet men's soccer team will look for perhaps its biggest win of the season thus far as the Peregrines take on the Roosevelt Lakers in a battle of the conference's top teams Saturday at Dowling Park's Pepsi Field.

The Peregrines (10-1-1, 6-1), winners of four straight, will face the Lakers (9-3-2, 7-0-1) -- also riding a four-match win streak -- in a pivotal Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup at 2:30 p.m. CT at Dowling Park.

The Peregrines and the Lakers are both receiving votes in the latest NAIA Men's Soccer Top 25 Coaches Poll.

Dowling Park is located just east of Kennedy Avenue and north of Interstate 90/94, off J.F. Mahoney Drive, just west of the Jean Shephard Community Center located at 3031 J.F. Mahoney Dr, Hammond, IN 46323.

LAST TIME OUT
Purdue Calumet is coming off a key road victory over Cardinal Stritch, Oct. 15, defeating the Wolves 2-1. Senior forward Papa Otoo (Bradenton, Fla./Braden River) scored his third goal of the season on a pass from senior Carlos Ramirez (El Paso, Texas/Coronado) in the 29th minute.

Senior Andres Ayala (San Antonio, Texas/Ronald Reagan) scored the game-winning goal in the 78th minute, giving Ayala his 11th goal which ties teammate Papa Otoo's 2013 record for goals in a season.

Sophomore Miguel David (Spring Valley, Calif./Bonita Vista) picked up three saves for the Peregrines in the win,David improved his record to 7-0-1 on the season at goalkeeper.

SCOUTING THE LAKERS
The Lakers are coming off a 4-0 victory over Trinity International, Oct. 14. The Lakers are led by Jose Garcia, Garcia has nine goals and 21 points so far this season. On defense, the Lakers are led by Jesus Velasco, Velasco has allowed 0.96 goals against average and owns a .787 save percentage. Roosevelt remains unbeaten in CCAC play, having collected wins over TIU (4-0), St. Xavier (2-0), Robert Morris (1-0), Olivet Nazarene (3-2, OT), Trinity Christian (6-0), Holy Cross (2-1) and St. Ambrose (4-1). Roosevelt played Calumet St. Joseph to a scoreless double overtime, 0-0 draw Oct. 30.

SERIES HISTORY
The Peregrines and Lakers stand tied 1-1 in the all-time series, but Purdue Calumet got the best of Roosevelt in two games last season. In 2014, Purdue Calumet defeated the Lakers on the road 1-0 in double overtime in regular-season play. The two teams met again in the first round of the CCAC Tournament, with the Peregrines advancing on penalty kicks, 5-3, after playing to a 2-2 draw.

PEREGRINE LEADERS
The Peregrines are led by Andres Ayala, who has 11 goals this season with 22 points. On defense, sophomore keeper Miguel David (Spring Valley, Calif./Bonita Vista) leads the way, as he's recorded a 0.87 goals against average and owns a .774 save percentage.

The Peregrines are set to play their 2015 home slate at Dowling Park's Pepsi Field, as they will host opponents Roosevelt (Oct. 17), Holy Cross (Oct. 24), and Calumet St. Joseph (Oct. 31) at the new complex. Peregrine Volleyball Falls to Ashford University in Non Conference Match
The Purdue University Calumet volleyball team fell to Ashford University, 3-0, Thursday night in a non-conference match-up.

The Peregrines (7-18) dropped three sets (25-8, 25-20, 25-15) to the Saints (19-14) at Kehl Arena.

After the Saints defeated the Peregrines in Set 1 25-8, the Peregrine fought hard in the second set to take an early 7-6 advantage thanks to a trio kills by Jenna Pasko (Lansing, Ill./T.F. South).

Ashford would regain the lead later in the set, 13-10, but the Black and Gold capitalized on the Saints miscues to take even the match at 16-16.

The Saints would go on a late run towards the end of the second set defeat the Peregrines in the second set, 25-20.

The Peregrines would fall behind early in the third set, 5-0, but continued to play aggressive and close their deficit to three points, 8-5.

Ashford broke open the lead midway through Set 3 before winning the third and final set over the Peregrines, 25-15.

Pasko led the way for Purdue Calumet with 13 kills and a .281 attack percentage while sophomore Gabrielle Martin (DeMotte, Ind./ Kankakee Valley) led the Black and Gold with 19 assists in the setback.

The Peregrines will be back in action next Tuesday, Oct. 20, as they take on Purdue North Central at the Dunes Operating Center in Rolling Prarie, Ind.
