Purdue Calumet’s Sebree Earns CCAC Player of the Week Honors

PUC-Sebree-Earns-CCAC-Player-of-the-Week-HonorsAfter an outstanding offensive performance in his final two games of the season that led to two Peregrine victories, Purdue Calumet junior guard LaBradford Sebree was selected as the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, as released by the conference Tuesday.

Sebree (Kokomo, Ind./Kokomo) earned his first CCAC weekly honor of his career and the second this season for the Peregrines, who concluded their 2015-16 campaign with victories over Trinity Christian and Purdue North Central last week. Purdue Calumet freshman Chandler Spring (Covington, Ind./Covington) was the Peregrines' other award winner, earning the honor during Week 1 of the season back in November.

The team's leading scorer all season at 19.8 points per contest - third overall in CCAC statistic rankings - Sebree poured it on last week, averaging a league-best 28.5 points per contest while adding 3.5 steals, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. The 6-foot-2 guard saved his best for last, recording a career-high 39 points in the Peregrines' 91-82 win over Purdue North Central in the team's season finale Feb. 20.

In that game, Sebree was electric from downtown, draining 8-of-10 from 3-point land while finishing 12-of-17 from the field overall. Sebree added 18 points three days earlier in the Peregrines' 74-59 road win at Trinity Christian. The 39-point performance tied as the fourth-best single-scoring performance in program history, tying former greats Ed Blackmon (1981-83) and Ryan Sexson (2000-02).

Purdue Calumet finished the 2015-16 campaign 12-18 overall.
