Purdue Calumet Educational Talent Search Hosting “Project Excel,” July 13 – 24, 2015

purdue-cal-peregrenePurdue University Calumet’s Educational Talent Search program is hosting a free enrichment program July 13 through July 24 designed to enhance reading, mathematical and technology skills for incoming seventh and eighth graders.

The program, called Project Excel, will offer project-based activities based on the sport-science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (S-STEAM) model. Participants will take part in interactive classes, attend cultural field trips, interact with successful adults from various career fields, and gain recognition for academic and social achievements.

Additionally, those who satisfy eligibility requirements to attend Project Excel will receive free breakfast and lunch during each daily session.

Educational Talent Search is a federally-funded program designed to identify and assist students from first generation, prospective college families and low income/other disadvantaged backgrounds who have demonstrated potential to succeed in higher education. Educational Talent Search encourages students to graduate from high school and go on to complete postsecondary education.
