The Marquette Catholic High School boys and girls basketball teams returned to action on Friday evening as both were on the road. The boys traveled to New Buffalo and pulled out a 86-38 victory. They will return to action on Friday, February 21 when they host Wheeler. JV tip off is 5:30 with varsity to follow.

Washington Township 62, Marquette 28 (Girls Basketball)

The girls basketball team traveled to Kouts to take on Washington Township in Sectional 49 semifinal action. The Blazers jumped out to an early lead, but Washington Township ran away with the game after that, winning 62-28. The loss ends the Blazers season. Congratulations on a good season for the Marquette girls team.

Portage 47, Chesterton 44 (Boys Basketball)

Jordan Collazo had 15 points and Michael Lattanzi added ten for Portage, who prevailed in the Duneland Athletic Conference match-up on Thursday. Collazo added five assists, three steals and one block in the win.

Chesterton was paced by Chris Palombizio, who had 19 points and Cole Teal, who added 15.
