Marquette 39, Washington Township 33 (Freshman Boys Basketball)
The Marquette Catholic Boys Basketball 'C' team returned to action on Monday evening when they hosted Washington Township. The Blazers built an early lead, stretching it to 15. The Senators made a late run, but the Blazers were able to hold onto a 39-33 victory. The 'C' team returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Culver Military Academy. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. central time.
Portage 52, Boone Grove 34 (Varsity Boys Basketball)
Luke Kizer led Portage with 17 points. Jacob Bearss added nine and Tim Bryant eight for the Indians. Boone Grove won the JV contest, 49-30.
Portage 106.9, Lowell 85.4 (Gymnastics)
Danielle Solis won every event, including all-around. Madison Kurtz took second on vault and floor and third all-around.
Krystal Fitchett placed second all-around and on bars as well as third on vault and beam. Delaney Barcelli took third on floor.
Josie Rempis won the JV beam, while Hailey Robinson was a winner on JV floor. Selena Sanchez won JV vault and bars. As a team, the JV scored 89.7.
