Vizena is an electrical and computer engineering technology major. Deal is studying construction engineering and management technology.

“These students are very worthy recipients,” said Martha Garcia-Saenz, PNW associate professor of Construction Engineering and Management Technology and the organization’s faculty advisor. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to award these scholarships so that Kara and Erin may continue to work toward earning their degrees. They both are very motivated, successful students who have bright futures.”

Garcia-Saenz was instrumental bringing the Women in Engineering and Technology program to PNW’s Westville Campus. Through seminars, guest speaker presentations and discussions, the program encourages students to succeed academically, personally and professionally.
