The Purdue Northwest softball team has earned the sixth seed in the 2021 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament hosted Tuesday-Thursday, May 11-13, at Sports Force Park in Sandusky, Ohio.
PNW will match up against third-seeded Davenport in the double-elimination event with a 2 p.m. EDT first pitch on Tuesday. The Pride will play a second game immediately following the first contest against either No. 2 Northwood or No. 7 Parkside.
PNW won four of their final six games to reach the tournament and posted an overall record of 14-24 (11-16 GLIAC) under first-year head coach Tristan Wilcox. The Pride moved up to sixth in the standings with a win in Saturday's finale. PNW won two of three matchups against Davenport (22-21, 18-13 GLIAC) this season, including a recent 4-3 home win on April 28. The two teams split a doubleheader in Grand Rapids, Mich. back on April 2 with both contests decided by two runs.
The Pride are 2-4 all-time in GLIAC Tournament games after earning the seventh seed in 2019 and the fourth seed in 2018.
