PNW Students Participate, Donate to Heart Walk

NCC-heart-walkFive students from Purdue University Northwest’s Problems in Public Relations course participated in the American Heart Association’s heart walk and submitted donations to help the cause on Saturday, Sept. 17.

Representing Northwest Communication Consulting, a student-led, nonprofit consulting firm, Zach Bouchee, Cain Buchmeier, Stephanie Hamilton, Jessica Someson and Michael Vela trekked the three-mile course.

“It was a good experience. We were able to do some good and bond as a group, so I saw it as a win-win,” Bouchee said.“Seeing that many people come together to raise money and awareness was a great thing to see.”

Hamilton, CEO of NCC, said the heart walk was a great way for the firm to give back to the community.

“It was fun being able to be a part of such an amazing charity walk. I would love to do it again,” Hamilton said. “It was really inspirational hearing about other people's stories that have dealt with heart disease.”

Bouchee said he is happy about contributing to a good cause.

“I don’t think you can ever raise enough money for a cause like that, but being able to help a great cause is something I’m happy about,” Bouchee said.

NCC contributed to the over $600,000 raised by the American Heart Association’s heart walk.

NCC is currently looking for an organization to do a communication audit for their company. For companies interested please call at 219-852-9432 or email at nwcomconsulting@gmail.com
