PNW-Students-Embrace-Season-of-Giving-2016aPurdue University Northwest College of Business students have embraced the holiday spirit by collecting 250 toys and nearly $400 for the Marine Toys for Tots program.

Inspired by efforts of Highland resident Estela Carbajal, a senior accounting major and president of the PNW Finance and Accounting Club, a friendly activity was organized earlier this month to spur toy donation among six student organizations affiliated with the College of Business.

“We wanted to bring College of Business student groups together to address a need in our community,” Carbajal said. “One of our club members, Jonathan Buckner, has a contact with Toys for Tots, so we thought that would be a good organization to reach out to given this time of year.”

Joining the Finance and Accounting Club in collecting toys were the Business Leadership Society, Marketing Club, Purdue University Marketing Association (PUMA), Society for Human Resource Management and Women in Business Club. The organizations have a collective membership of some 350 students.

Additionally, students enrolled in the Entrepreneurship class, “Launching a New Venture,” contributed $384.69.
