PNW Class of 1,216 to Be Honored at Three Commencement Ceremonies

Purdue-Northwest-colorPurdue University Northwest (PNW) will honor 1,216 graduation candidates during three Commencement Exercises Friday, Dec. 8 and Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Westville and Hammond Campuses.

The first commencement ceremony will honor graduates from each of PNW’s five degree-granting academic colleges. The procession will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 8, in the H.D. Kesling Gymnasium in the James B. Dworkin Student Services and Activities Complex, located at 1401 South U.S. 421, Westville.

The second and third ceremonies will take place Saturday, Dec. 9 in the Fitness and Recreation Center, on the Hammond Campus, 2320 173rd St. The first ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. honoring candidates of the College of Business and the College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences and; followed by the final ceremony at 3 p.m. honoring candidates of The College of Engineering and Sciences, the College of Nursing and the College of Technology.

Commencement address and distinguished candidates Alumni Robert E. Johnson III, President/CEO and co-founder of Cimcor, Inc. will deliver the Commencement address at all three ceremonies.

Purdue Northwest Chancellor Thomas L. Keon will present a Chancellor’s Medallion to the graduating senior with the highest grade point average from each college. Other distinguished baccalaureate degree candidates also will be recognized.

1,014 baccalaureate graduates PNW’s 2017 fall graduating class is comprised of 192 master’s degree candidates, 1,014 prospective baccalaureate graduates and ten others expected to receive associate degrees.

Graduation celebration A reception for graduates, family, friends, faculty and staff will follow each graduation program. The events will take place in Alumni Hall of the Student Union & Library on the Hammond Campus and in the Great Hall of the Dworkin Center on the Westville Campus.
