PNC Students Present Readers’ Theatre Production

Purdue University North Central students will present their annual Readers' Theatre oral interpretation program on Tuesday, April 16 at 11 a.m. and Sunday, April 21 at 2 p.m. in the Library-Student-Faculty Building Assembly Hall, Room 02. The program is free and open to the public. It will last about one hour.

The Readers' Theatre program, presented by students in Communication 240, Introduction to Oral Interpretation, has been a fixture at PNC since 1989. Generally called "Potpourri of Literature" these programs usually have been built around a theme with literature of various genres being selected to illustrate the theme from different prospective. This year's edition of "Potpourri of Literature 2013" will feature the theme of "Agony and Ecstasy: Winners and Losers."

"Agony and Ecstasy: Winners and Losers" is an original script written and edited by Dr. Daniel Padberg, associate professor of Communication, who teaches the Communication 240 class.

Some of the prospectives presented will include: Love, with the subthemes of love of youth and imagination; love maturing from rough beginnings to true love; love failed and love's memories. The Cycle of Life and Family, including family; life's cycle of agony and death and the cycle of life: determination and purpose. The Ecstasy of Life's Meaning.
