PNC Public Speaking Continuing Education Class

PNCThe Purdue University North Central Office of Graduate and Extended Learning and Department of Communication will offer a non-credit program for people who want to develop their public speaking skills. There are no prerequisites for participating in this continuing education program.

Classes will meet Wednesdays from Jan. 28 to March 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. The registration is $149 and includes all materials. Discounted rates are available for PNC students, alumni and employees. The deadline to register is Jan. 21 by 4 p.m. Seating is limited.

The course, taught by Dr. Daniel Wilbur, PNC associate professor of Communication, introduces the principles and practice of public speaking. Participants will learn how to create clear, concise and engaging presentations, as well as the importance of analyzing and adapting speeches for unique audiences. They will also improve their own speaking skills by studying public speaking as both a speaker and an observer.
