PNC-homecoming-3The Purdue University North Central Office of Graduate and Extended Learning will offer a non-credit program in business writing.

Participants will meet on Tuesdays from March 19 and ending on April 3 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The registration is $159 and includes all books and materials. Special rates are available for PNC students, alumni and employees. The deadline to register is March 12 by 4 p.m.

The program will be taught by an instructor with 14 years of experience teaching English at the college level in online and face-to-face classrooms and worked in offices, banks and small business.

Participants will learn the importance of audience, tone and purpose when composing any piece of writing, but there will be an emphasis on the types of documents found in business and how to be more precise and concise when communicating, an essential element of business writing.

Exercises will include composing emails, memos, letters, resumes, proposals and reports. Participants will work on blogs and learn how to use social media effectively. There will be an opportunity to collaborate and learn to create visuals such as tables, graphs and Gantt charts.
