PNC Exhibits “Travel Notes From the Field” By Feargal Doyle

Feargal-DoylePurdue University North Central Odyssey Arts and Cultural Events Series is presenting the exhibit, "Travel Notes from the Field," a collection of paintings by Feargal Doyle on display Jan. 13 through May 31 in the PNC Library-Student-Faulty Building student lounge, Room 062. Building hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Library-Student-Faculty Building is closed on Sundays.

The exhibits includes 22 paintings in various mediums, including watercolor, wax crayon, china ink, oil and acrylic. Most pieces are for sale.

Originally from Ireland, Doyle now lives and works in New York. He moved to New York in 2012 via Thailand, where he and his family had spent two years on a life transforming adventure. During this time, he turned to painting as his full-time occupation and passion. Prior to that his career had been in architecture and he worked for several years with New York based 'starchitect' Daniel Libeskind on projects in native Dublin and in Berlin. He also worked in theatre as a set designer.

His paintings depict memories of people, places and events through the lens of his own experiential understanding of the world. This intuitive style is complimentary to his experience of working in the methodical, concept-driven world of architecture and is a means toward self-understanding and to communicate in a more meaningful way.

He has exhibited in both Ireland and in New York.
