PNC Education Students Join Anti-Bullying Efforts

Stomp-Out-BullyingThe members of the Purdue University North Central chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, a student honor society for Education majors, will take part in Blue Shirt World Day of Bully Prevention on Monday Oct. 7.

The students have asked for all faculty and students on campus to wear a blue shirt in support of this cause.

In addition, the students will be selling buttons throughout the month of October to help raise awareness against bullying. All proceeds will be donated to the Stomp Out Bullying website, .ww.stompoutbullying.org.

Kappa Delta Pi president Jennifer Edwards explained that she is a strong advocate of anti-bullying awareness. When she proposed this project to the Kappa Delta Pi members, they quickly agreed.

"I believe that all of us as future educators will have to be advocates to anti bullying and zero tolerance for bullying," she said. "We also have to be role models for our future students. The members of Kappa Delta Pi want take a stand against it. Kappa Delta Pi members strive to be leaders and as leaders we need to show that if we all stand together we can make a difference. We encourage everyone to take a stand against bullying. Be a mentor for students. If you see bullying happening don't just stand there - stop it right away."
