Purdue University North Central Delta Sigma science club will sponsor a science fair open to students in grades 3 through 8 on Feb. 21 on the PNC campus.
Science Fair set up will begin at 8 a.m. the day of the fair. Judging will be at 10 a.m.
“The Delta Sigma Science Club wants to encourage scientific creativity not only in our members, but also in our local school children,” said Nate Kennedy, president of Delta Sigma Science Club. “We had a phenomenal science fair last year, full of engaged students and enlightening projects students were able to interact with one another and with faculty from the PNC College of Science in an atmosphere of academic exploration.”
Many Delta Sigma members believe that participating in science fairs was instrumental in fostering an interest in science and ultimately choosing to embark on a path to a science degree.
“With the Delta Sigma Science Fair, we hope young scientists will find and develop a passion for questioning and analyzing the world around them,” said Kennedy.
Registration will continue through Feb. 20. Those who register by Feb. 15 will receive a t-shirt.
