PNC Delta Sigma Club Sponsors Grade 3 – 5 Science Fair

PNCPurdue University North Central Delta Sigma science club will sponsor a science fair open to students in grades 3 through 5 on May 17 on the PNC campus.

Registration information and official rules and guidelines are available at http://www.pnc.edu/activities/clubs-and-organizations/delta-sigma-science-club/. Registration will continue through April 25. Participants will receive a free t-shirt, but supplies are limited.

Science Fair sponsors include the PNC Department of Biology, and Chemistry, the PNC Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics, the PNC Chancellor's Office and Beulah Inc., of Valparaiso.

"Delta Sigma Science Club members want to provide a quality event that will help to enrich the science experience for the young students in our community," said Stephanie Rigg, Delta Sigma president. "This is a great opportunity for young students who are interested in science to participate in a judged science fair."

Rigg noted that many of the PNC Delta Sigma students enjoyed participating in science fairs when they were younger and want to share their enthusiasm.

"Delta Sigma is moving in the direction toward becoming more than just a social club for those who love science, but also as a service club that gives back to the school and community from which essential support is received. The Delta Sigma Science Fair is the second large-scale service project organized by Delta Sigma Science Club. All information, ideas and experiences will be used to insure that Delta Sigma continues to offer service projects that benefit the community and the spread of an appreciation for science."
