Details about the JM2 JumpStart Scholarship are available at http://www.pnc.edu/scholarships/technology-scholarships/ Interested students matching the scholarship criteria are required to submit essay answering the question, “Where do you see the internet in the next five years and why?”

The scholarship was created in 2013 by JM2 Webdesigners, a technology company in Michigan City, founded in 2012. JM2 Webdesigners specializes in custom application and website development for small to mid-size businesses in the Northwest Indiana area. Owners Jon Meyers and John Marx are proud of the service they provide and decided to give an annual scholarship to Purdue North Central Computer & Information Technology students to assist the recipients in pursuing their passion in computer systems. Among the reasons the JM2 Webdesigners scholarship was developed, is the diverse educational backgrounds of Marx and Meyers.

Marx graduated from Chesterton High School and went on to pursue a degree at Ivy Tech. He attended a single class and ended up dropping out of college. He had the opportunity to go to other universities but decided that his purpose was to pursue a career in the military and enlisted in the Army. The discipline he learned there, served him well in the future.

Marx has been developing professional websites since 1995. He built a career related to his interest in programming and technology, writing software for clients like Holiday Inn and Super 8 and a consulting corporation. He also supervised PNC intern Jon Meyers.

In May 2012, Meyers graduated from PNC and began his career with the La Porte County Information Technology staff.

In November of 2012, JM2 Webdesigners was created and has been actively producing websites and software. Marx and Meyers use their successes to give back to the community through education and assisting . students who have an interest in pursuing a degree in technology. In 2013, the JM2 Webdesigners Jump Start scholarship was developed to help PNC Computer & Information Technology students.

Marx and Meyers believe in the importance of an educated community and that one of the best ways to achieve that goal is to help students get into college. Marx and Meyers support post-high school education at Purdue North Central and want students to follow their dreams and passions for the sake doing what they love – the reason behind offering the JM2 Webdesigners JumpStart scholarship. They hope their scholarship makes it easier for students to learn what they want to learn, without being restricted by money and student debt.
