PNC 2014 Homecoming Super Hero One Mile Fun Run

PNC-homecoming-3The Purdue University North Central 2014 Homecoming Super Hero One Mile Fun Run will be Friday, Sept. 12, on the PNC campus. Registration begins at 5 p.m. and the race starts at 6 p.m. with an awards ceremony following at 6:45 p.m.

Awards will be given to the male and female winners in each group as well as the individual who is the best dressed super hero. Ribbons will also be given to all participants who run in the race. The entry fee is $5 with all proceeds going to PNC student athletics to raise funds for athletic scholarships. Runners may pre-register until Thursday, Sep. 11 at http://www.pncathletics.com/SIDHelp.php?action=form¶meters=14 or register the day of the race. All payment will be due and collected the day of the race.

PNC homecoming festivities will continue throughout the weekend.

At 6 p.m. Sept. 12 there will be free games and activities for individuals of all ages. The band Black Water Levee will provide free musical entertainment. Food vendors will have an assortment of items for purchase.

The evening will culminate with a fireworks show hosted by the Purdue North Central Alumni Association and presented by Badaboom that will begin at dark. Spectators may bring lawn chairs and blankets for the fireworks show. No coolers or outside food will be allowed. PNC is an alcohol- and tobacco-free campus.

On Saturday, Sept. 13 activities will begin at 10 a.m. with an Alumni Softball Game at the Purdue North Central Softball Field located at the Practice Field located at 9450 W. 125 S, Westville.

There will be a Car and Bike Show on campus from noon to 2 p.m., with spectators admitted free. Those who would like to exhibit vehicles may take advantage of early registration from 10 a.m. to noon with a registration fee of $10. Proceeds will to go the Warriors First Foundation and PNC Student Government. Homecoming will wrap up with an Alumni Baseball Game at 2 p.m. at Hick’s Field on campus.
