The Fourth of July Fireworks are being held in Fox Park on Truesdell Ave. in La Porte this year. Vehicle traffic on all roadways surrounding Clear Lake will be prohibited from 5:00 PM until the conclusion of the Fireworks. Road closures include the entire length of Hoelocker Dr. and all of Clear Lake Blvd. McClung Road from Park St to Seymour will not be accessible (also closed due to construction). Other Street closures are Furnace St. from Park St. to Clear Lake Blvd., West St. from Park St. to Clear Lake Blvd., Detroit St. from Washington St. to Clear Lake Blvd. Truesdell Avenue will be closed east of Marquette Street with no traffic allowed into Fox Park.
Residents within the area of road closures will be issued passes by the La Porte Jaycees to access their residences. All other vehicles will be prohibited.
General Parking for the fireworks will be accessed only from Truesdell Ave., off of Pine Lake Ave., on the Allis Chalmers property near the intersections of Truesdell Avenue and Marquette Street. Handicapped persons will be parked in the grass lot across from the entrance to the Allis Chalmers parking area. Shuttles will be provided by the LaPorte Jaycees.
After the fireworks, vehicles will exit onto Truesdell Avenue and go west toward Pine Lake Avenue. Due to the congestion that is expected both before and after fireworks, we strongly request everyone attending to please exercise extreme patience. Officers will be directing traffic before and after the Fireworks and the LaPorte City Police Department is asking for everyone’s cooperation in getting in and out of safely.
