Oracle honors Community Healthcare System IT team with PeopleSoft Innovator Award

Community Healthcare System has been recognized for its work on the latest features of Oracle device applications, enhancing the overall user experience and increasing operating efficiency. For their efforts, Community Healthcare System’s Information Technology (IT) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) team has earned the PeopleSoft Innovator Award. The award recognizes hospital teams for thinking outside the box in customizing processes, technology and the user experience.

“We continue to make significant progress in our digital transformation,” said Jesus Delgado, vice president and chief information officer, Community Healthcare System. “Our team’s recognition for innovation in our ERP corporate system demonstrates our commitment to developing operational excellence and improved user experience.”

Community Healthcare System’s IT team has implemented a new automated testing methodology that drastically reduces testing time for the business component at the hospitals and eliminates system errors during application upgrades. The team has developed more than 1,000 automated test scenarios with built in validations across all PeopleSoft applications to ensure that everything is functioning as expected after any change to the system.

In addition, several Community Healthcare System departments have taken advantage of the program’s new dashboard features to deliver real time analytics that drive daily action plans.

For example, the Accounts Payable and Materials Management departments can use match exception analytics to quickly identify and resolve discrepancies and avoid any delays in supplier payments. Working with dashboards has made the process more efficient by providing a central location to monitor results and then take appropriate actions.

With the latest version of the PeopleSoft Travel and Expense applications, the team has implemented innovative solutions to increase efficiency. By integrating the application with Google Maps, employees are able to quickly and accurately report their mileage expense. In addition, new functionality was developed to support the continuing medical education reimbursement process for medical professionals.

“I am pleased to see Oracle is committed to enhancing the PeopleSoft applications and technologies, staying ahead of new trends and delivering rich business functionality,” said Gerald Gnat, IT ERP Applications director, Community Healthcare System. “This ensures our partnership and investment in Oracle software will remain strong and will continue to support Community Healthcare System’s business growth and innovation.”
