Operation Christmas Child to Hold Packaging Party Nov. 11

OCC-SebastianGroup to pack boxes at Indiana Welcome Center

The Indiana Welcome Center will be hosting an Operation Christmas Child packing party in conjunction with Mummydeals.org.

The packing party will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, with a goal of packing 1000 boxes for the cause. Volunteers will have stations set up throughout the lobby and will be welcome to walk the exhibit hall. The Indiana Welcome Center is located at 7770 Corrine Dr., Hammond, IN 46323.

Operation Christmas Child is a great opportunity to teach today’s youth the importance of giving. Each box will be designated for a boy or a girl within a specific age range. From there, volunteers will fill the boxes with small toys, school supplies and hygiene items as well as a letter for the receiving child to read.

Volunteers and donations are still needed to meet the goal of 1000 boxes. A complete list of wish list items and more information on the event can be found by visiting http://mummydeals.org/operation-christmas-child-packing-party-2013/ or by contacting Clair Boone via email at mummydeals@yahoo.com. Volunteers can also RSVP to the packing party by visiting the website.

Operation Christmas Child is a program run by Samaritan’s Purse. The organization aids the world’s poor, sick and suffering through different programs and missions. For more information on Samaritan’s Purse, visit www.samaritanspurse.org.
