matt-saltanovitzNorthwest Indiana Forum Economic Development Director Matt Saltanovitz will discuss the job market and economic development opportunities regionally at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 19 in Purdue University Calumet’s Powers Building, Room 130. Admission is free.

With the Northwest Indiana Forum, Saltanovitz is responsible for expanding job opportunities and attracting new businesses to Northwest Indiana.

During his presentation, “Economic Development in Northwest Indiana,” he will focus on opportunities, benefits and partnerships available to businesses in Northwest Indiana. He also plans to offer examples, he said, “of current and potential developments and projects that would serve as economic catalysts in our seven-county area.”

Before joining the Northwest Indiana Forum, Saltanovitz worked as business editor at The NW Indiana Times Media Co. in Munster.

He also is a graduate of Leadership Northwest Indiana, a network program providing unique experience through leadership. Additionally, he was named a Northwest Indiana Small Business Development Center Champion through his business expertise.

Saltanovitz’ presentation at Purdue Calumet is sponsored by the university’s student Economics Club. The club is open to students of all majors and provides opportunities for greater economic awareness and understanding about topics, scholarships, internships, job opportunities and networking.
