North Coast Distributing to Change Name to Indiana Beverage

indiana-beverageOn October 1, 2012, North Coast Distributing, located at 2850 Barley Road in Valparaiso, will change its name to Indiana Beverage, and it will expand its market area into North Central Indiana, which includes the counties of St. Joseph, Elkhart, LaPorte, Marshall, and Fulton. The name change was made to better represent the company’s product offerings and the communities it serves.

The original Valpo Beverage was founded in 1939 after the repeal of Prohibition. Just over 20 years ago, Valpo Beverage became North Coast Distributing to reflect the growth of its market area beyond Porter County. Over the past 73 years, through industry consolidation and strategic acquisitions, this little company has grown to serve 11 counties with 240 employees. This family business has become known for its customer service driven employees and its commitment to the local communities it serves.

“We believe strongly in the local business model,” says Indiana Beverage President, Jon Leetz. “The beer business is won at that local level with our local retailer partners and our local consumers. It is for these reasons that we are committed to maintaining a local presence in the South Bend area market,” added Jon Leetz. Indiana Beverage has a cross-dock and sales office facility in South Bend to support their 80 employees that work in that market area. “Regardless of size and successes, we are your local beer distributor and that won’t change,” said Bruce Leetz, CEO of Indiana Beverage.

“By embracing change within the industry and taking risks, our incredible team of people created who we are today. We have been blessed to grow our company and are honored to serve our customers, suppliers, and community” said Bruce Leetz. North Coast Distributing moved into their new 215,000 square foot facility in February of 2012. “Our new state of the art facility enables us to service the needs of our retail partners while adapting to the ever-changing environment that is the U.S. beer business” said Jon Leetz. Indiana Beverage sells over 1,000 brands of beer from all over the world. Although their name is changing, they remain steadfastly devoted to their core values, their mission and their vision.

“Through Pride in our Service, going the extra mile, Team Indiana Beverage delivers the difference!” is the rallying cheer of this diverse team of beer men and women that continues to adapt and change to succeed in the U.S. beer business.
