New Exhibit!

smittysWhat was your favorite Hang-out? Smitty's? Brownie's? Dog'n'Suds? Terry's? Take a trip back to the days of Poodle Skirts and Malts with a visit to the La Porte County Historical Society's latest exhibit for Spring: "Diners & Drive-Ins: Hometown Memories" on display at the museum. Mostly a photo exhibit, some memorabilia is also featured such as Senior Cords, Menus from your favorite haunts, Cheerleader sweaters and more. Plan a visit to the museum for this fun and informative exhibit! "Diners & Drive-Ins: Hometown Memories" will be up until the end of May.

Different events are being planned to go along with the current exhibit so mark your calendars now! One such event is a Sock-Hop on the afternoon of Saturday April 12th. Also, a Fabulous '50's Variety Show will take place on Saturday evening, May 10th. More information on these events will follow as plans are finalized.

The La Porte County Historical Society Museum is located at 2405 Indiana Avenue in La Porte, and is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00A.M. to 4:30P.M.. Call ahead for admission prices at 219-324-6767, or visit our website at www.laportecountyhistory.org. Children under 12 enter free. The facility is accessible to those with disabilities.
