Michigan City Police to Become “Angel Tree” Location for NYAP

National-Youth-Advocate-ProgramThe Michigan City Police in keeping with our philosophy of maintaining strong local support for foster parents and foster children, were approached by the National Youth Advocate Program based out of Merrillville, Indiana in regards to setting up an “Angel Tree” to be placed in our lobby of the Police Department.

This tree is designed to pull a name from the tree in which it names current foster children in need of a Christmas gift and what they are wishing for.

Without hesitation Officers and civilian staff took all of the name tags from the tree and purchased all of the gifts for the foster children!
