Multiple Professionals Recognized for Mammography Skills at NorthShore Health Centers

Recently, three of our medical professionals were recognized for their outstanding work in following the guidelines of assuring that their female patients 40 and older have a screening mammogram performed annually. It is important to us at NorthShore Health Centers that our patients get the top quality care that they deserve and with these wonderful medical professionals, and many others, that we have in our employ at NorthShore, we're proud to say that we can give our patients the experience that they need.

We have an annual award that is bestowed upon one individual called the NorthShore Health Centers 2014 “Mammography Life-Saver Award”. A second and third place winner are named as well. Please join us in recognizing our winners!

Dr. Henedina Macabalitaw

Dr. Macabalitaw is our "Mammography Life-Saver Award" winner. She has lead our team in efforts to prevent and/or detect breast cancer in our patients by sending them in for yearly mammograms, encouraging them to take care of their health. Many people are helped and possibly lives saved thanks to Dr. Macabalitaw's determination.

Dr. Macabalitaw has spent her career in Family Medicine and has been actively involved as co-investigator with the National Institute of Health in research studies about hypertension and cholesterol. Her professional objective to encourage healthy lifestyles and disease prevention makes her an invaluable asset to the patients she serves at NorthShore Health Centers.

"The award is great," Dr. Macabalitaw said. "However, the intention is to call attention to an important preventative measure for women. Women are by nature care givers. We take care of our children, spouses, parents, and everybody else; sometimes neglecting our health. Preventative health care saves lives. At NorthShore Health Centers, we strive to educate the community we serve on ways to enhance life by maintaining health and preventing disease."
