Michigan City Transit Closed on the 4th; Alternate Routes on the 5th

Michigan-City-TransitIn observance of the Friday, July 4th holiday the Michigan City Transit Department will be closed. They will resume regular hours of operations on Saturday, July 5. Due to the parade we will have to deviate from regular routes along Franklin St. between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Starting at 10 a.m. there will be no bus service on Franklin St. between 9th St. and Ames Field. Here are the deviated routes:

Route #1 and #3 Detours: Buses will be traveling South along Washington Street to/ Barker Ave to/ Wabash Street to/ Coolspring Ave. to /Franklin St. continuing scheduled route. Buses will be traveling North along Franklin Street to/Coolspring Ave. to/ Wabash Street to/ 6th Street To/Pine St. continuing scheduled route.

Route # 2 Detour: Bus will travel South/East along Washington St. to/ 6th Street to/ Spring St. to/ Detroit St. continuing schedule route.

NICTD will be closing 10th St. from July 7th through August 29th due to repairs being made to 10th St. and laying down new rails.

Due to the closing of 10th St. from July 7th through August 29th please observe the following detour for MC Transit Route #4.

Route #4 Changes: Chicago St. to Cooper St. Cooper St. to Willard Ave. Willard Ave. to 8th St. 8th St. to US 12 US 12 to Willard Ave. Willard Ave. to 8th St. At this point the route will continue as normal.
