Michigan City’s Public Art Committee (MAC) seeks submissions for the 2013-2014 public art project “Sculptfusion” which will be located in the Uptown Arts District of Michigan City Indiana. Selected artists will be awarded an honorarium of $2,000. The installed artwork may be available for sale.

EXHIBITION SCHEDULE: June 15, 2013 – June 15, 2014
INSTALLATION SCHEDULE: June 8 – June 15, 2013
ELIGIBILITY: Sculptfusion is open to all professional artists in the Midwest region. Artists must own the rights to the Artwork. Artwork must be available for the duration of the one-year contract. Accepted Artworks must be professionally constructed of durable materials which will withstand the year-round elements. All durable outdoor media are encouraged.

There are presently no restrictions on size; however, artist should be aware that sculptures will be placed within a well-traveled streetscape. The installation method for each sculpture should be welded tabs or similar easy-install method.
Selected artists are responsible for transportation of the Artwork to and from the installation site. The Artwork MUST be delivered as exhibition-ready, must be stable and well-fabricated. A condition report will be completed upon delivery. Artwork deemed unsuitable for public display will not be accepted. The artist’s installation and de-installation of Artwork will be supervised by the City of Michigan City who will insure the Artwork for the duration of the exhibition.
