As you might have heard the Michigan City Police have taken over the Kiddie Parade to attempt to revitalize the parade to the way it once was, large, exciting and memorable for children, parents, grandparents and residents.
We are hosting this event on Friday July 3rd at 6:00pm, during First Friday’s beginning at 7th St. and traveling north on Franklin St. to the conclusion at the Michigan City Library. There will be plenty of staff on hand to answer any questions and bathrooms will be available.
Numerous Sponsors and partners have come forward to help with this “ALL FREE” event. in We will be serving a “Healthy Snack” courtesy of McDonald’s upon registering for the parade and then a FREE Hotdog, chip and drink meal at the conclusion of the parade for all! So parents don’t worry about dinner!
We will then tally up all the votes as we supply Dairy Queen Ice Cream to all participants during the awards ceremony. The event will also be broadcast live on television through Michigan City Live.
We have just secured Ronald McDonald as the Parade Grand Marshall along with our High School ROTC color guard leading off the parade. We gladly have the Michiana Clown as participants along with the Michigan City Soul Steppers.
With the partnership of Horizon Bank we have several members of that organization wearing “American Hero” costumes and will meet and greet the children along the parade route.
This year we have added PETS as an additional category!
