MCHS is excited to roll-out our “Compressed Air Academy” for students in LaPorte county that are interested in manufacturing as a career. The academy will be housed at MCHS. If your student is interested in this program, please have them contact their school counselor.

With the Artic Freeze that invaded Michigan City we have had the opportunity to experience our first E-Learning days. The staff and students are learning from each experience and are enjoying having the opportunity of E-Learning. I would encourage you to remind your student to make sure they submit their E-Learning assignments as it counts for their attendance on those days. Spirit week begins February 11th-15th and we are looking forward to the festivities Student Council has planned!

February and March are very busy months, as we are in ISTEP testing, counselors are wrapping-up scheduling, and meeting with the class of 2019, to make sure they are all on track to graduate. This is the time to discuss course selections with your student. This is the time to discuss your student’s future after high school and how the selections made impact College and Career opportunities once they graduate. MCHS staff partners with you to prepare your student to be college and career ready. Seniors should be finalizing applications to colleges, universities or technical centers along with researching and applying for scholarships. Local scholarships are all posted on the high school website, counselors are available to answer questions and provide input.

As always, we are here to ensure students graduate college and career ready. Please continue to follow us on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and like us on Facebook to remain informed of all the great things taking place at MCHS!
