Michigan City Community Enrichment Corporation Grants $800,000 to 58 Organizations

Michigan-City-Mayor-Ron-Meer-SOC-1Mayor Ron Meer and the Michigan City Community Enrichment Corporation granted $800,000 to 58 charitable organizations serving the Michigan City area at the Blue Chip Casino Awards Banquet yesterday evening.

The Michigan City Community Enrichment Corporation originated in 1997 by agreement between the Blue Chip Casino and the City of Michigan City. Every year the Blue Chip Casino gives $750,000 to the Michigan City Community Enrichment Corporation.

The Michigan City Community Enrichment Corporation board received 94 grant applications, requesting $1,993,928 of funding for programs and projects that directly impact our community and our citizens.

The Following is a list of organizations that were awarded grants from the Michigan City Community Enrichment Corporation, a non-profit foundation funded by revenue from the Blue Chip Casino. Since 1997, the corporation has awarded more than $12.8 million dollars in grants to organizations that directly serve the Michigan City area.
