The Michigan City Chamber of Commerce hosted their third annual golf outing and auction at the Pottawattomie Country Club on the nicest day imaginable. Those attending enjoyed crisp and cool lunchtime refreshments along with a head start on betting for auction items. The Pottawottomie Country Club, a member of the Chamber of Commerce and also a great community partner, accommodated all of the participating sponsors and chamber members perfectly.
“The huge significance for the outing is to show our members how efficient we have become, it helps us recruit new members, and it’s a huge fundraiser for us. We try to restrict our ask of members to this one event; we are using this as a way to boost our income for the year and it’s just a wonderful time to get together—it’s a lot of fun and once again we picked a wonderful sunny day so we are going to have a great time,” Fred McNulty, Past Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and current Golf Chairman of Michigan City Golf Committee, said.
Premier Members attending included: NIPSCO, La Porte County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Interlogic Outsourcing, INC. (IOI), Franciscan St. Anthony, IU Health La Porte, Chicago South Shore & South Bend Railroad, Economic Development Corp. of Michigan City, Horizon Bank, and La Porte Savings Bank. McNulty would like to remind everyone that the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce is thankful for the community support of these affiliations and pleased to continue to have these superb relationships.
The growth of the chamber has been steady in the last several years and continues to advance in the Michigan City community. The quality and vitality of Michigan City can be viewed through the many social events that are found in their backyard. The chamber is extremely proud to be at the center of all the change and hopes to showcase even more opportunities in the future.
“The chamber of commerce is here to boost the economic development of Michigan City. Ann does a tremendous job; she’s a great cheerleader for the city and for the chamber. It’s wonderful to have people like Ann and Charlie and everyone involved pushing the community forward,” Kim Sauers, Director of the La Porte County Fair and owner of Sauers Buick GNC in La Porte and Sauers Ford-Lincoln in Michigan City, said.
It’s amazing how the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce brings all types of organizations together for a day to relax and appreciate each other’s company—with a little friendly golfing competition thrown in. Mayor Ron Meer also decided to join in on the festivities with his wife, Agnes.
The hard work and dedication of multiple additional sponsors made the day even more wonderful.
