More than two tons (4,237 pounds) of canned goods and other non-perishable food items were collected by Michigan City Area Schools students and staff as part of the district's annual Holiday Food Drive.
The food filled two school buses and was delivered to the Michigan City Salvation Army on December 15 by volunteers from the MCAS Transportation and Food Service Departments, with assistance from high school students in the A. K. Smith Facilities Maintenance program.
