Michiana Public Relations and Marketing Firm Earns Three Emmy Nominations

big-idea-companyMishawaka-based public relations and marketing firm Big Idea Company, LLC has received three 2014 Emmy nominations for work written, produced and broadcast in 2013-2014. The nominations were announced Tuesday evening, September 23 in Chicago by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

An ad campaign and an individual ad from the same campaign were nominated for an Emmy award. The campaign entitled Beating Cancer, was written and produced for the oncology specialists at Michiana Hematology Oncology’s Advanced Centers for Cancer Care. The individual ad, Beating Ovarian Cancer, was also nominated and tells the story of one young woman who beat ovarian cancer.

“We found out that we received the nominations 4 a.m. Wednesday morning,” said Lou Pierce, President of Big Idea Company. “We are, of course, honored by the nominations. But more than anything, the nominations underscore the dramatic work of the physicians at Michiana Hematology Oncology. Their stories are compelling, and their care and compassion are obvious.”

40 Chances, a 2-minute film encouraging viewers to make a 40-year commitment to fighting hunger, and features activist/philanthropist Howard G. Buffett, musician/activist Bono, actor/activist Eva Longoria, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and actor/activist Ben Affleck, was also nominated. The film was written and produced for the Howard G. Buffett Foundation.

Big Idea Company has been honored with 15 Emmy nominations from the Academy over the past 9 years. Winners of the 2014 Emmy Awards will be announced at a gala ceremony on Saturday, November 1st in Chicago.
