Nine pets went home yesterday. That must be some kind of record! They were just the start of the great Clear the Shelters exodus. All week pets will "meet and greet" potential new housemates, or visit the vet to be spayed or neutered before going home.
All told, we expect around 20 animals will have found their new families in just five hours last Saturday! And we found a few more good families that just didn't make a match, but might come back!
Of course we're happy for all the pets going home, but we might just have a particular smile for office cat Toby, who found his new home with Vickie (pictured above). Vickie's granddaughter joined her for the pick-up wearing a tabby cat t-shirt -- how appropriate!
It's been a lot of hard work for all the staff at the shelter, but every "going home" makes it worthwhile. Thanks for caring.
