MCHS Student Receives Automotive Award

A. K. Smith Career Center Automotive Technology student Evan Long recently received 3rd place and a scholarship prize of $1,000 from the UTI Roger Penske Scholarship Test.  Evan, who is a senior at Michigan City High School, competed against hundreds of other students from across the Midwest during the virtual event.  He has earned over $5,800 in scholarships for UTI through similar competitions. Evan plans to attend the Universal Technical Institute’s  Illinois campus for the Automotive and Diesel Technology program. Currently, he is an intern at Valvoline and works part-time at J&S Automotive in Michigan City.
