“This was a good way to start our drill season,” said Marine Instructor Master Sergeant Jeff Benak. “Our cadets performed well, and I am confident we will improve and perform better at future meets.”
Major Tom McGrath, the Senior Marine Instructor, complemented the cadet on their work ethic, and echoed Benak’s thoughts on improving for the future. “These cadets are at the school at 5:45 am every day for practice. They really want to bring home a first place trophy for Michigan City. I know they will continue to work hard and improve, because they know that future meets will be more competitive”
The next drill meet will be at Michigan City High School on November 21st. It is sponsored by the local chapter of the Marine Corps League and is open to the public. Admission is free. The meet will run from 8:30 am to approximately 3:30 pm and will feature 10 schools from Indiana and Illinois.
