Brokers representing 21 offices spread across Northwest Indiana, Chicago Southland, and Central Illinois dropped by to take part in the festivities. The holiday party represents a chance for them to connect and catch up on life outside of real estate.

“Everybody is so busy throughout the year, which makes it so important that we bring everyone together as a family,” said Rhonda McColly-Fleener, director of operations for McColly Real Estate and chief organizer of the annual celebration. “It’s a way for us to give back, and let everyone have a good time and celebrate what they work so hard for every year.”

“There aren’t many companies that would put on an event like this, with so many independent contractors,” said Jeff Bennett, managing partner for McColly Bennett Commercial Advantage. “I think it’s just a wonderful time to get together and understand what the Christmas season is all about. You can just see the smiles on the faces of people as they come in to know why this matters, it’s really gratifying to be a part of this company.”

It was the second holiday party for Broker Lauren Rossi, who will soon be celebrating her third anniversary with McColly.

“It’s a chance to meet with agents throughout the whole company, and at such a beautiful place,” Rossi said. “They really go all out, they know how to make it a good time.”

The festivities included food, drinks, dessert bar, dancing and also a caroling performance by the Wheeler High School Choir. McColly brought in caricature artists to capture the brokers’ styles, a photo booth, a DJ, and professional photos by Kay Warner Photography.

McColly-Fleener sees the holiday party as a reflection of McColly’s approach to real estate.

“This is what we’re all about, we are a relationship business,” she said. “We’re family owned and operated. It starts with building relationships, and then the business comes naturally.”

Rossi echoed those thoughts, crediting the support system with helping her complete another successful year.

“They treat you like family, they’re never going to steer you in the wrong direction,” she said. “They’re always there for you, especially my managing broker, Wendy Embry, she's always there to guide us.”
