Michigan City Area Schools Superintendent Dr. Barbara Eason-Watkins invites parents, community members, business and civic leaders, and school district staff to join her for a “State of our Schools” address on Wednesday, October 3, at 6:00 p.m. at Michigan City High School (8466 W. Pahs Road, Michigan City.)
The theme of the address is “MCAS – Going for the Gold.” During the presentation, Dr. Eason-Watkins will:
- Share achievement data for MCAS.
- Celebrate recent gains and outline challenges facing the district.
- Review progress on key areas of the MCAS Strategic Plan.
- Present areas of focus for the year ahead.
The presentation will be held at Michigan City High School, which launched a Freshman Academy this week through an Innovative School Improvement Grant awarded by the Indiana Department of Education. “Michigan City is a community that cares deeply about its schools and its children,” says Dr. Eason-Watkins. “This is an opportunity for all of us to come together to celebrate our successes and to examine the challenges before us.”
The October 3 “State of our Schools” address will be will be rebroadcast daily on cable Channel 98 and on the MCAS web site at 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., October 4 through October 22.
